Job Summary:
Assess, monitor, plan and manage the efficient utilization of funds in a manner consistent with the objectives of the company
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts and contribute to preparation of annual budgets
Manage the Treasury Operations processes
Co-ordinate, implement and review Treasury processes and procedures
Principal Functions:
Track the company’s funding position, manage payments process and ensure collections are recognized
Manage excess cash holdings and ensure adherence to cash investment policy
Organize and negotiate short term credit facilities, ensure compliance with loan covenants and efficient administration of loans
Manage interest rate and foreign exchange risk
Manage the preparation and submission of month end and group reporting requests on Shareholder and Third party Loans
Maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders (Management Reporting, Accounts Payables, Budget & Planning, Finance Support and Retail) and external stakeholders (Banks, Facility agent, Cash in Transit Company etc)
Continuously monitor, evaluate and recommend improvements to treasury policies and processes in line with current and best practices
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecasts on a regular basis
Review key treasury reports (daily bank activity, daily collection and weekly investment reports) that will enhance effective decision making with respect to cash/fund management
Ensure all funds collected from shops, subscribers and dealers are banked and/or recognised on a real time basis
Ensure payments are captured on ERP, tracked and processed within contracted period
Administer shareholder and third party loans, review facility/loan documentation, make requests for draw downs, ensure payment of interest and fees at agreed rates and period, review and approve accruals for month and year end and ensure all necessary reports are submitted to agents as and when due in accordance with the facility agreement
Update monthly reports to Group Treasury on all debt related matters
Identify and take into account tax and legal aspects of refinancing, negotiate pricing and make recommendations to Head of Treasury
Implement electronic payment applications to support payment operations
Supervise month-end process, understand and manage appropriate accounting procedures and ensure deadlines are met
Assist the Head of Treasury and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) with preparation of Finance Committee and Board papers on treasury matters
Manage the company’s Guarantee (APG and BG) book to reduce exposure risk
Complete special projects as required to ensure continuous improvement of all cash management processes and the operations of the Treasury Unit
Additional duties/projects as directed by Head of Treasury
Educational Requirements: First degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field (minimum of Second class Upper Division). Postgraduate degree (MA/ MBA/ M. Sc). ICAN or ACCA qualification
Experience & Skills: Between five (5) and eight (8) years directly relevant post-NYSC work experience in international financial services or corporate treasury with at least most recent two (2) in a supervisory role. Ideal candidate must be a team player, innovative, analytical and results-focussed.
