JOB SUMMARY
 
The VMI Supervisor’s primary responsibility is to coordinate the operations of VMI locations by ensuring operations are efficient and conform to the company’s standards and operating procedures.
He is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s assets and stock holding at location are safe guarded to prevent loss/theft.
The VMI supervisor is also responsible for supervising and sustaining a good and productive team.
He also liaises with the Client’s representatives on site to ensure provision of excellent customer service that meets and exceed their expectation.
 
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Ensure that VMI location conform to operational standard and function in line with the established operating procedures at all times. He is responsible for ensuring that these locations comply with the laid down procedures and guidelines.
  • Carry out assessment of all equipments’ at ALL times within the VMI site/location with a view to reducing equipment failure/breakdown that can impart on operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate VMI manpower resources to achieve efficiency and high performance in the delivery of quality operational service.
  • Appraise the performance of all operatives working within location/site
  • Ensure proper documentation, records and reporting of product receipts and consumptions.
  • Attend to issues relating to shortages and calibration of tanks, flow meters and dispensing pumps at VMI location/site. Ensure that all measuring equipments – flow meters, dispensing pumps and storage tanks are accurately calibrated, and scheduled in a timely manner for their periodic re-calibration.
  • Ensure efficient inventory management of all stock points within the location/site such that stock variances are kept within the approved tolerance limit. Product loss should be avoided at all points along the product storage, pipeline network and consumption points.
  • Identify training need for Operatives within location/site with a view to closing out competency gaps.
  • Regular monitoring of location/site with documented observations, action points and timelines for close outs of all non-conforming issues.
  • Supervise the Engineering works carried out within location/site for feedback to sign-off on job completion.
  • Compliance with EHSQ policy and procedures. Ensure that all personnel in the location/site conform to the company’s EHSQ policy and avoid major incidents. All incidents must be documented and reported to the EHSQ personnel via CCU.
  • Maintain a movement log (visit register) for self and other monitoring members of his/her team within the location/site.
  • Provides summary report of financial and operational performance of location/site.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
 
·         A good University degree in Engineering, Sciences or Social Sciences
·         Minimum of 1 years relevant experience in Bulk Products facility, Inventory and Operations Management
