Division: Environmental Compliance
Reports To: Head-Environmental Compliance
Job Summary:
Ensure that Etisalat Nigeria complies with all relevant environmental laws and regulations applicable in Nigeria
Principal Functions:
Liaise with relevant departments to implement strategies that have been developed to minimize environmental risks arising from Etisalat Nigeria business operations
Monitor industry and current trends on environmental compliance and study the impact of new laws, regulations and legislation on Etisalat Nigeria business operations
Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Facilitate the conduct of appropriate studies on all Etisalat Nigeria sites and other facilities as required by relevant environmental laws and regulations
Monitor and ensure strict adherence to environmental management policies and processes
Carry out periodic compliance monitoring and make recommendations to relevant units on impact mitigation as required
Assist in preparing and drafting project Terms of Reference in accordance with applicable guidelines; review necessary reports or documentation with respect to projects with an environmental-impact flavour
Liaise with the Government Relations unit and other stakeholder departments of Etisalat Nigeria as may be required on all environmental compliance issues
Maintain compliance database of all Etisalat Nigeria sites and facilities
Ensure proper maintenance of site monitoring logbooks for all Etisalat Nigeria facilities and make recommendations based on readings to the Head-Environmental Compliance
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head-Environmental Compliance
Educational Requirements:
First degree in Environmental Management sciences or any other related field/ discipline
Relevant postgraduate/ professional qualifications/ certifications will be an added advantage
Experience & Skills:
Between two (2) and five (5) years directly-relevant post-NYSC work experience
