Job Title    PR & Protocol Manager

Location:    Lagos
Job Description:

•Develop and execute media management strategy on an on-going basis
•Develop and maintain strong relationships with key influencers in the media and create an enabling environment for dialogue
•Support corporate communications and MTN’s external communication’s consultants to ensure positive/priority media coverage/editorial mention of important issues and initiatives. Utilize media contacts to protect MTN’s inch space
•Track and analyze MTN’s media coverage
•Develop and execute a robust and effective capacity building program for the media on an on-going basis
•Develop and execute dynamic sponsorship strategy/criteria which aligns with MTN business objectives
•Ensure quality of program  and supervise the execution of all corporate events
•Ensure selection and effective distribution of iconic corporate gifts
•Develop and execute a multiplicity of  sponsorships and PR interventions which promote the MTN point of view and cultivate critical stakeholders
•Develop ethical solutions to bridge  stakeholder management dilemmas and promotion of same
Job Conditions:     Normal MTNN working conditions but may be required to work outside official office hours at events/functions and informal engagement platforms May require frequent local travel
Reporting To:     General Manager, Corporate Affairs
Required Skills:
   

•A good first degree from a reputable university.
•Evidence of a wide range of diverse interests that speak to an aptitude for public relations and stakeholder management.
•8 years quality experience in media/media consultancy or PR function of a large organization.
•At least 2 years supervisory/ management experience
•Experience in a multi-national company will confer significant advantage
