Rivers State Government-owned Development Agency - Massive Recruitment

Rivers State Government-owned Development Agency requires competent persons, capable of providing professional performance with good team mindset for the following positions:


1.)  Assistant Director, Projects - (Ref-189/12)


Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and coordinates the work of the project department .
  • Manages infrastructure and engineering/construction projects.
  • Develops and negotiate project contracts, alongside Technical Consultants.
  • Recommends the selection of contractors for services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, construction Management, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 13 years relevant experience.
  • A combination of training, education and experience in procedures and project management practices.
  • Professional affiliation with a recognized professional engineering body including the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
  • Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) would be an advantage.
  • Must be knowledgeable in CAD.
  • A Master’s degree would be an added advantage.
 
2.)  Assistant  Director, Development Control - (Ref: 190/12)

Responsibilities

  • Manages the Development Control Team and supports other divisions in achieving the priorities and objectives of the Authority
  • Prepares evidence for appeals, enquiries, hearing, written representation, reports for legal proceedings and attends court as necessary.
  • Scrutinises all planining applications, monitors their progress and grants approvals.
  • Advises the public, developers, statutory bodies and other interested parties on matters relating to the control and enforcement of development in conjunction with the Legal Department.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of  13 years relevant experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Town/Urban Planning and Estate Management
  • A master’s degree and any relevant  professional qualifications will be an advantage
  • Must be a registered member of the Institute of Town Planners


3.)  Supervisor Level, Architect - (Ref: 191/12) 

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and presents feasibility reports and design proposals.
  • Directs activities of those engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents.
  • Prepares tender documnets for contracts.
  • Manages projects and coordinates work of contractors.
  • Conducts tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree of Architecture
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant 
  • Professional affiliations with a relevant professional body
  • A Master’s degree will be added advantage

4.) Officer, Operations & Maintenance (Mechanical Engineer) (Ref 193/12)


Responsibilities:
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer generated reports.
  • Researches and analyses customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to validate the feasibility coast and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Researches, designs, evaluates, installs, operates and maintains mechanical equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements applying knowledge of engineering principles.
Qualification/Experience:
  • Bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering or any related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Professional affiliations with a relevant professional body including the NSE.
  • A masters degree will be an added advantage.
  • Masters’ degree in Engineering would be an advantage.
  • Membership of COREN will be an advantage.

5.) Officer, Operations & Maintenance (Electrical Engineer) (Ref 194/12)

Responsibilities:
  • Prepares and modifies electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, charts and graphs.
  • Controls project cost estimates, quantity take-offs and manpower requirements for proposals, forecasts and changes orders.
  • Supervises, coordinates and provides technical direction and on the job training to drafters, designers and less experienced engineers.
Qualification/Experience:
  • Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering or any related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Professional affiliations with a relevant professional body including the NSE.
  • A Masters’ degree will be an added advantage.
  • Masters’ degree in Engineering would be an advantage.
  • Membership of COREN will be an advantage.

6.) Senior Officer, Planning (Urban Planner) (Ref: 195/12)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Town/Urban Planning or Estate Management
  • Minimum of 7years relevant experience
  • Acombination of training, education and experience in Development Control procedures and practices  
  • Relevant professional qualifications will be an advantage

7.)  Senior Officer, Planning (Building Technologist)  (Ref 196/12)

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7years relevant experience
  • HND in Building Technology or related fields
  • A combination of training, education and experience in Development Control procedures and practices 
  • Relevant professional qualifications will be an advantage

8.) Offficer, Planning (Public Health Technologist) (Ref 197/12)

Qualifications:

  • HND/Bachelor’s degree in Public Health Technology, Environmental Technology or any related discipline
  • Minimum of 5yhears relevant experience 
  • Relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage 

9.) Officer, Surveys (Land Surveyor) - (Ref: 198/12)

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizeds, and directs work of one or more survey parties engaged in surveying earth’s surface to determine precise location and meeasurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, adn contours for construction, mapmarking, land divisions, titles, mining or other purposes.
  • Researches previous survey evidence, maps deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
  • Determines methods and procedures for establishing or restablishing survey control
  • Coordinates finding with work of engineering and architectural personnel, client, and others concerned with project.
Qualifications:
  • HND/Bachelor’s degree in Land Survey
  • Minimum of 5years relent experience
  • Relevant professional qualifications will be an added advantage 

ICT proficiency is mandatory for all the positions.
