MTN Nigeria - Client Server support Engineer

Job Description

  • Build, configure and maintain MTNN servers and server environment.
  • Administer the Microsoft Active Directory Exchange, SQL, ISA and Citrix services .
  • Plan and design server environment and new site roll outs.
  • Support  Black Berry & Intelli-Synch servers.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis and analysis.
  • Achieve customer service targets based on SLAs
  • Back up server data periodically to ensure 100% recoverability in the event of loss.
  • Implement and monitor server security initiatives.
  • Manage all internal users to ensure hitch free login process.
  • Communicate with end-users and management regarding server-based issues – anticipated downtimes, server access, new systems and architecture, upgrades etc.
  • Deploy new server-based applications and hardware under direct supervision of superiors.
  • Maintain a high level of customer centered service delivery.
  • Prepare reliable trend analyses to help determine focus areas and develop proactive approaches to server faults management.
  • Prepare periodic management reports on server activity.
  • Apply self- management skills, methods and strategies to ensure prompt delivery of quality service from all servers to end-users at all times.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • First degree in Computer science or related area of study.
  • MCSE
  • Compaq ACT
  • DELL Certified Systems Engineer and Compaq ASE
  • At least 4 years hands-on server support experience which includes:
  • Windows 2000/2003 Server and Advance Administration and Support
  • Exchange 2000/2003
  • Basic Active Directory scripting
  • Microsoft System Management Server 2003
  • MacAfee Epo (anti-virus) software
