Are you aged 14-16 years old and in year 10/11 at school and want a
placement in an international development organization like Christian
Aid?
We have exciting opportunities for up to three year 10/11 students to undertake a one-week work experience placement with us.
We
are looking for motivated and enthusiastic young people who are
passionate about the work that Christian Aid does and someone who will
really become part of the team and maximize their opportunity to learn
throughout their placement.
In return, you will have a fantastic
opportunity to develop valuable transferable and practical skills
including, working in a team and using IT systems within a working
context, all of which you will be able to draw on as you progress
through your academic journey and future employment choices.
We are offering the following placements:
IT / Systems Development work placement
Throughout
this placement you will be provided with the opportunity to work with
the digital team to produce a website either looking at the design and
implementation of the site and/or integration with other services.
You
will also be able to gain experience in Application programming by
writing an application in C#.net which can be used to manipulate data
from Gift Aid declarations or from the Data Server Unit scanner.
This is an ideal opportunity for any students interested in pursuing a career in software programming and systems development.
Charitable Trusts and Foundations work placement
This
is an opportunity to help research new ideas and compile information on
potential projects for charitable trust proposals, as well as giving
general support to the team.
This should be very valuable experience
for anyone interested in a career in fundraising, as well as more
generally strengthening research, analysis and communication skills.
Organisational Support work placement.
Throughout
this placement you will be spending time in a variety of departments
including, Human Resources, Supporter Relations and Organisational
Development.
This programme has been designed to provide a broad
overview of some of the different departments that contribute to the
success of an organisation.
This would be suitable for students
looking for an insight in to the general operations of an organisation
or maybe those students that are yet to decide which career path they
wish to take.
Work experience placements are unpaid.
