UNILAG Human Resources Development Centre Admission into Professional Diploma Programmes

The Human Resources Development Centre invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the following programmes;

1.) Diploma and Executive Diploma in English for Professionals

2.) Diploma in Human Kinetics and Health Education

3.) Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood  Education Programmes

1.) Diploma and Executive Diploma n English for Professionals
The Human Resources Development Centre invites applications from suitably for admission into the following programmes;

Diploma in English for Professionals (DEP)

FOR WHOM: Administrators and Secretaries in Federal and State Civil Service, Personal Assistants, Private. Personal and Confidential Secretaries in Business and Industry, Public Relations and Protocol Officers, Banking and Finance Officers, Legal Practitioners, Accounting Officers, Insurance Officers, Senior Security Officers, Church Ministers and Imams, Islamic Clerics or Preachers. Media Practitioners’Journalists and other Professionals including Journalist and Consultants.

Admission Requirement: In order to be eligible, an applicant is required to have at least one of the following qualifications:

(a) WASSC/SSC or equivalent qualification with credit in English language and passes in four (4) other subjects, passed at not more than two sittings, or

(b) Candidates who are above 30 years of age and who have acquired not less than 5 years’ experience in relevant fields may be admitted as mature candidates despite the deficiency in the minimum entry requirements.

COURSE BENEFITS: Each candidate becomes professionally proficient and confident in spoken and written English to achieve higher productivity at work.

COURSE FEES: N65,000.00 for tuition fee and N 10.000,00 for Course Material.

Executive Diploma in English for Professionals (EDEP)

FOR WHOM: Executive Administrators and Secretaries in Federal and State Civil Service, Personal Assistants (PA). Private, Personal and Confidential Secretaries in Business and Industry, Members of National and State House of Assemblies, Local Government Chairmen and Women,  University Lecturers and Administrators, Public Relations Officers, Protocol Officers and Managers, Executive Politicians, Legal Practitioners, Media Men and Women, Military and Law Enforcement Officers (Police, Customs, NDLEA, Immigration, Prisons etc.), Accounting Officers, Insurance Ofliccrs. Surveyors, Engineers, Estate Managers, Scientists, Church Ministers and Muslim Clerics and other professionals including Journalist and Media Consultants.

Admission Requirements: In order tobe eligible, an applicant is required to have at least one of the following qualifications;

(a) A Diploma in English for Professional’s (DEP) certificate of the University of Lagos or any recognized Diploma of other comparable institution approved by the University Senate.

(b) A first degree or a second degree of the University of Lagos or any other comparable institution approved by the University Senate.

(c) GCE ('A' Level) or equivalent with passes in two or three subjects including English Language;

(d) Mature candidates who are 30years and above may be given admission despite deficiency in minimum entry requirement

Course Benefits: This is a specially designed programme for Executive leaders in business, industry and other sectors of the economy, The candidate will be enriched such that he or she becomes professionally proficient and confident in spoken and written English while appropriate instructions will be given to enhance participant’s effectiveness at work and at public functions.

COURSE FEES:N 120,000.00 for tuition fee and N 10,000.00 for course Materials and Equipment.

General Information for  DEP AND EDEP:

Duration: Two Semesters- November, 2012 TO September, 2013 (Saturdays Only)

COURSE PRESENTATION: Lectures, Tutorials, Audio and Video Presentations, Film Shows, Case Studies and Project-Writing.

Admission letters for shortlisted candidates are to be collected from the same office as from Friday, 26th October 2012. Please note that letters of admission will not be posted to individual candidates but will be available at the Human Resources Development Centre Portal(hrdc.unilag.edug).

Lectures will commence on Saturday 10th Novcmber, 2012

2.) DIPLOMA IN HUMAN KINETICS AND HEALTH EDUCATION

The human Resources Development Centre (IIRDC) invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its two-year part-time programme for active Sportsmen and women leading to the award of the Diploma in human Kinetics and health Education.

Entry Requirement:

(i) Five (5) Credits in West African School Certificate Examination (WASCE) NECO or GCE which must include Mathematics, English Language, Biology and any other Science subject at one sitting.

(ii) Coaching Grade III Certificate or Diploma obtained from National Institute for Sports.

Duration: Two (2)Academic Sessions

FEES: N78,000.00    COurse Materials: N 5,000.00

Date of Qualifying Examination & Interview: Saturday: 8th October2012

Venue: Sports Centre, University of Lagos Time: 8.00a.m

3.) ADMISSION INTO EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAMMES

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission iwo the following courses

(a) Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

(b) Advanced Diploma in Early Childh ood Education.

DIPLOMA IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION

DURATION OF COURSE: Six (6) months 2 semesters.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants are required to have a minimum of school Certificate with five Passes including Creditin English.

FEES: N50,000.00 for tuition fee and N10,000.00 for course materials.

ADVANCED DIPLOMAIN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION:

DURATION OF COURSE: Six (6) months 2 semesters.

Applicants are required to process National Certificate of Education (NCE) or Higher National Diploma (HND) or First Degree

FEES: N60,000.00 for tuition fee and N10,000.00 for course materials.

Lectures will hold on Saturdays from 9.00am to 5.00pm

VENUE: Faculty of Education, University of Lagos, Akoka-Yaba, Lagos.

Method of Application

Guidelines for Filling the Form

1. Visit the Human Resources Development Centre Portal (hrdc.unilag.edu.ng) Click on the Application form.

2. Click the pre application form link; provide the required information and submit to obtain a Payment Reference Number (Voucher). You are expected to print out the Payment Reference Number (voucher) and take to the bank.

3. Make payment at any branch of the designated banks stated below:

WEMA BANK PLC, ECO BANK PLC, ACCESS BANK PLC, FIRST BANK PLC at the University of Lagos Branches only.

4. Applicants are expected to take the printed payment Reference Number (voucher) to the bank for payments of N5,000.00 which is the cost of Application Form,

5. After payment, return to Human Resources Development Centre Portal (hrdc.unilag.eclu.ng) Click the Application link, then Application Form Link. Login with Payment Reference Number as username and provide surname in lowercase as password.

6. Click the Edit Application form link to fill the Application form and upload digital passport (jpeg format) which should not be more than 15kb in size and must be in white background. The acceptable dimension is: width- 235 pixels or 35mm. height- 314 pixels or 40mm (Failure to comply with specified image format may lead to disqualification).

7. Click "SUBMITFORM" button after filling the form completely; else click "DECLINE" button.

After submission, applicants are required to print the completed Application Form for submission at the Human Resources Developtnent Centre Secretariat. Submit the printed form along with two (2) sets of your Credentials.

Kindly note that if payment is not made five (5) days after obtaining Payment Refernce Number (voucher), the pre-application would be DECLINED. Applicants will then be expected to refill the pre-application form to obtain a new Payment Reference Number (voucher).
