Admission Of Students Into The Chartered Institute of Administration 2012/2013

Chartered Institute of Administration is a professional and examining body chartered by Federal Government Act No, 103 of 1992; empowering the Institute to regulate the training in, and practice of, administration within a professional framework throughout Nigeria. The Institute’s qualifications are accredited and graded by Federal Ministry of Education for employment in all sectors of the economy.



Nigerian College of Administration is the official Education and Training School of the Institute, offering registered students prescribed courses of study leading to the award of the Institute’s qualifications.

Applications are invited for admission into courses commencing in October 2012; available at the Lagos Main Campus, as well as at the following external Study Cenres: Lagos - Festac, lsolo; Calabar, Uyo, Warri.

Its pragmatic and rigorous curricular, structured to meet the challenges of professional administration In the new millennium, provides the right skills to assure accelerated dynamic career progression to the top echelon of varying managerial functions in both public and private sectors of the economy.

Above all, the ACIA guarantees self-employment as a Chartered Administrator in public professional practice, engaged in providing highly rewarding consultancy services to the public covering the entire wide area of professional administration specialisms.
 
ACIA Professional Qualification:

The Accelerated Certification Study Scheme (ACCESS), available on part time (Weekends) and distance study, leads to the following awards of Chartered Institute of Administration: Chartered Professional Examination Certificate, Professional Associate Membership (ACIA), and Practicing License as a Chartered Administrator in Public Professional Practice.
 
Course Structure:
This programme comprising Foundation, Intermediate, and Final (Professional Practice 1 and 2), offers candidates a choice from three streams of Professional Administration Specialisms, namely; Corporate Administration; Financial Administration and Public Administration.
 
Requirements:
One of the following qualifications in any discipline; Degree, HND, Final Examination Certificate of a Chartered Professional Body, any other qualifications approved by the Governing Council of the Institute. 
 
Exemptions:
Exemptions on subject-for-subject basis in respect of the Foundation and Intermediate Levels only may be awarded at the discretion of the Council to holders of qualifications which indicate sufficient coverage of the Institute’s syllabus.
 
Study Period:
Twelve (12) weekends (Saturdays/Sundays) for each Level or module of the programme. Overall duration depends on exemptions granted to holders of qualifications in relevant disciplines.
 
Diploma In Business Studies (DBS)

This Administrative Technician Scheme comprising Parts 1-4, available on full time, part-time (weekends) and distance study, open to persons who may not possess the entry requirement for ACIA Professional Course, provides a recognized qualification for successful Diplomats to gain:
  • direct entry to the Intermediate Level of the ACIA Professional Course:
  • direct entry to the 200 Level of the Universities or HND of the Polytechnics in business-related disciplines.
  • employment in general administrative functions. 
 
Requirements
GCE 'O’ Level or equivalents with credit passes in 5 subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Economics. Persons who may not have the required number of credit passes may be offered a provisional admission on the condition that they will make up their entry deficiencies within one year of commencing the course.
 
Study Period
Four (4) semesters if no exemptions are granted.
