Reports To: Line Maintenance Manager

Location:Lagos Airport
Purpose Statement:
The Aircraft Maintenance Technician is responsible for accomplishing delegated maintenance tasks on Air Nigeria or contracted customers aircraft to the required Airworthiness standards.
The primary objective is to ensure the continued safe operation of the aircraft by achieving and striving to exceed, the standards of airworthiness set by Corporate and Airworthiness Authority policy, procedures and requirements.
Key Accountabilities:
• The Aircraft Technicians integrity and actions have a direct effect on the safe and economical operation of Aircraft fleets, Company and Customers.
• Technicians must adhere to manufacturers documented maintenance procedures and the instruction of the designated supervising Engineer. A Technician will also be expected to work on delegated tasks without supervision using his own initiative.
• Technicians are expected to apply sound engineering practises to their duties and to fully communicate their actions.
• The Quality of maintenance accomplished by Technicians is of outmost importance, as this will affect the safety and operational reliability of the aircraft. Failure to meet standards will impose a cost penalty on the airline, which could be combined with poor customer satisfaction and perception of Air Nigeria quality of service.
• Aircraft Technicians are responsible for completing aircraft maintenance tasks delegated to them in a cost effective, timely manner ensuring that such work is accomplished to the required airworthiness standards.
• To ensure that all maintenance tasks are accomplished to the correct standard of Airworthiness. Quality & Safety
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical) or City and Guilds in Mechanical/Automobile (Intermediate).
• Trade test 1, 2 and 3 with the relevant five years experience in an aircraft operating organisation with a schedule or chartered flights.
• Maintenance certificate from a recognised aviation institution with a minimum of six months technical full time training on either B1/B2.
• A manufacturer’s or aircraft systems certificate on a pressurised aircraft, either B1/B2 will be an added advantage.
• Possession of 5 years mechanical/Electrical/Electronics based experience.
• Must be computer literate.
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
• Willingness to travel at short notice.
• Proactive attitude and positive approach to problem solving.
• Should be able to work on delegated tasks without supervision using his own initiative.
• High team player.
