Context/Scope
The Procurement function is clearly recognised as a key
enabler for Guinness Nigeria to achieve its Mission of becoming the most
celebrated business in Nigeria. To successfully deliver the requisite step-change
level of functional performance expected in its Supply chain, Procurement has
now significantly up-skilled using best local (both internal and
externally-recruited) talent and expertise, with a targeted-objective to be
benchmarked on a par with peers across Diageo Europe/North America.
The post-holder will be expected to significantly input and
contribute to the GN Procurement functional journey in the new operating model.
The role has responsibility to support development and implementation of best-in-class
Category strategies across sub-categories such as Sales Promotions, BTL –
Experiential, Sales promotion, trade audit, Point of sale items.

GN Procurement manages approx. N2bn of external spend with
approx 40 suppliers within this sub-categories and is a significant contributor
of value to GNPLC.
Purpose:
Responsible for the excellent execution/implementation of
category strategies that clearly deliver our Procurement Functional Value
agenda of Assure, Protect and Create for all areas of Indirect spend across the
3 sites. Provide procurement support to deliver the most effective and
efficient use of company’s funds in the acquisition of services to deliver the
key procurement imperatives of Quality, Cost, and Risk management.
The role will be based in Lagos and would be ideal for a
final-rotation L6 secondment
There will be occasional requirements for national travel.
Key Accountabilities:
• Accountable for best-in-class Supplier Performance
Management processes in Guinness Nigeria that supports the delivery of
Procurement’s functional Mission Statement of Assure, Protect, Create
• Supports the Implementation of designated key projects
through effective project management, utilising appropriate e-procurement tools
to maximise speed, efficiency and drive of benefits e.g. e-RFI’s e-RFP’s,
e-auctions, spend analysis. Support the embedding of e-procurement in Guinness
Nigeria
• Conducts performance data gathering and analysis to
support the preparation of professional commodity bid-templates and follow-up
evaluation of prospective supplier’s tenders against service, quality and cost
parameters.
• Conducts regular Supplier performance management and
implement action plans to close gaps. Pro-actively and independently resolve
issues as they arise and manage contract SLAs and KPIs with our suppliers
• Supports the Category Manager – BTL & POS on Supplier
development initiatives and progress same.
• Participates in securing stakeholder approvals at GATE
meeting using presentations to facilitate decisions on how best to optimise our
supply base to deliver our stretch agenda
• Performs Supplier data maintenance on SAP
• Supports the Function’s control and risk agenda, -
including CARM, GAR, SFRM, CCS
Qualifications and Experience Required:
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience, gained in a “blue chip”
organization
• Knowledge of Procurement processes is essential covering
all procurement imperatives (quality, service, cost, risk, growth support,
innovation)
• Experience in advertising, marketing, and sales spend
activities.
