Air Nigeria - Director, Commercial, Strategic Planning and Alliance

Function:  Marketing
Location:   Lagos

Purpose Statement:
To be responsible for the Commercial/Strategic Planning and Alliance Management of Air Nigeria. It also involves reviewing Corporate Strategy and Operational processes across all functions/departments, benchmarking against global and other relevant industrial standards to enable the company minimize costs and boost profitability. To drive the development and implementation of the airline’s short/long term route network and fleet development plan, Revenue management & pricing strategy and commercial partnerships to effectively grow and sustain Air Nigeria’s revenues and profitability.

Key Accountabilities:
• Lead in the development of optimal network plan and strategy that ensures sustained growth & profitability
• Direct the market and Industry analysis in order to identify & recommend new business opportunities
• Direct the Revenue management processes and Air Nigeria’s pricing strategy that meets, generates and sustains Air Nigeria’s revenues and profitability
• Direct and maximise the profitability for Cargo opportunity across the Network.
• Review current and existing processes and operations to identify business opportunities and possible threats.
• Support Management in Strategy formulation and providing direction to the team on long and short term strategic needs
• Continually scan for new sources of comparative and competitive advantage
• Building and maintaining effective partnerships with key stakeholders to improve outcomes and enhance the organisation’s reputation
• Research and timely circulation of regulatory and relevant information across the business


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• The position requires a University Degree or equivalent from a reputable institution. A post graduate qualification or professional certification is desirable with a minimum of 5 years senior management or Director level experience. Applicant must possess highly developed interpersonal skills required to foster value-adding relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Excellent presentation and communication skills and experience in working with people at all levels. Travel Industry/Service related industry or commercial airline experience would be a preference.
